Galloway - Closed for business

End of an era

The long trading history of specialist ductwork and acoustic enclosure fabricators Galloway, finally ended when the Dundee operation closed their doors for business in August of this year. Galloway had been trading in Dundee since 1872, but were under considerable pressure from the downturn in the construction, gas and oil industries.

Despite the tireless efforts from both their management team and workforce, they had been making a loss and under relentless cash pressure. Efforts to raise sufficient finance to keep the company afloat proved too much with the burden of previous borrowings and other financial commitments.

Doby Verrolec had the opportunity to purchase all the machinery from the factory and whilst some of it will be re-furbished and sold on, other pieces will enable us to react quicker to market forces by producing more products locally. Both tabbed and curved access doors will also be available from us here in County Durham in 2017.
